Ford Recalls – Windshield Wiper Failure

Due to reported cases of windshield wiper failure, Ford has issued a recall for over 650,000 pickup trucks and large SUVs. This is a result of the teeth on the wipers being the incorrect height.

This Ford recall affects certain Ford pickup trucks and SUVs, including 2020-2021 F-150 and Ford Expedition models, Lincoln Navigator SUVs, and 2020-2022 F-250, 350, 450, and 550 trucks.

Ford started notifying affected owners by mail on May 23, 2022. Dealers will replace both front windshield wipers free of charge.

Ford Explorer Recalls

A Ford Explorer recall has been issued for over 250,000 SUVs due to a rear axle mounting bolt fracturing upon acceleration. Owners have described the noise as a loud grinding or clunking sound. This has caused some Explorer SUVs to roll away while shifted in park without the parking brake on.

This Ford recall affects certain 2020-2022 Explorers and Explorer Hybrids, 2020-2021 Explorer Police Interceptors, Explorer Police Interceptor Hybrids, and 2020-2022 Explorer Plug-in Hybrids.

Affected owners started getting notified by mail on June 6, 2022. Depending on the model, dealers will either replace a bushing and the axle cover or update the electronic parking brake software.

Ford Escape Recalls

Certain Ford Escape and Maverick models are at risk of engine compartment fire. If an engine failure occurs, engine oil and fuel vapor may be released into the engine compartment and build up near ignition sources such as hot engine or exhaust components.

If you hear unexpected engine noises, see smoke, or notice a reduction in vehicle power, Ford is advising to park and shut off the engine immediately.

This Ford recall concerns certain 2020-2022 Ford Escape models and 2022 Ford Maverick models with 2.5L HEV or PHEV engines.

Ford began sending notification letters on August 8, 2022. Dealers will modify the under engine shield and active grille shutter free of charge.
