5 of the Best Chinese Food Restaurants Near Matteson, IL

June 11th, 2021 by

Whether it’s for a family dinner or a fun lunch with friends, we think Chinese food takes a lot of beating when it comes to having a great meal out. Everyone has their favorite place to go, but if you need some help finding the best Chinese food, then we’re going to let you in on our favorites in Matteson, IL and the surrounding area.
1. Liang’s
Liang’s in Richton Park is a restaurant known in the locality for great value food and a menu featuring all your favorites. Open every day from 11:30 am, you’ll find a warm welcome here whether you’re stopping in for lunch or dinner.
Lunch combination specials are a popular choice and well priced. Still, we generally stop in for dinner and enjoy the Crab Rangoon appetizer followed by the chef’s recommendation Lemon Chicken or Satay Beef. Whatever you pick, we’re sure you’ll enjoy a fabulous feast.
2. Panda Express
Situated right in Matteson, our local branch of this famous chain is a great place to stop in for a lunchtime Asian food fix. Originally from California, there are now more than 2,000 locations across the country, so it’s entirely possible that you’ll have visited before.
The food comes quickly, freshly prepared, and in plentiful supply. We love their famous Original Orange Chicken with stir-fried meat covered in sweet and spicy sauce. We also have a weakness for the Beijing Beef, and don’t forget some Chicken Egg Rolls!

3. Sun-Sun
In Richton Park, you’ll find Sun-Sun, which residents often comment on being the most authentic Chinese food in the local area. The special lunch combinations are really worth visiting for and offer exceptional value between 11:30 am and 3 pm.
The menu at this restaurant is, to say the least, extensive, so you might have a little trouble deciding what to order. Don’t be afraid to ask the friendly staff for current recommendations, or check out the house Szechwan and Hunan specialties for regional recipes you might not have tried before.
4. Runa Izakaya
In Tinley Park, Runa Izakaya says it offers modern interpretations of classic Chinese dishes, and we’re always left satisfied on every visit. The restaurant is well laid out with a long bar, tables, and booths to choose from, and as well as Chinese food, there is also a menu of Japanese and Thai.
We love the soups here, especially the Hot and Sour, and could happily make a lunch or dinner of them alone. But you’ll want to try the Salt and Pepper Calamari, or if you’re not a seafood fan, the Kung Pao Combination with chicken and beef together, so you don’t have to choose your meat.
5. Chen’s
Finally, also in Tinley Park, we have Chen’s, a long-standing lunch and dinner favorite where you’ll find a classic American Chinese menu along with Szechwan specialties like the incredible Szechwan Supreme with chicken, beef, and shrimps.
Food is consistently excellent and of great value. Locals frequent this establishment regularly when they’re looking for a great selection of food that’s served generously.
Make sure you come to see us at Sutton Ford after you enjoy your meal. We’re looking forward to showing you the latest range of new and pre-owned Fords, as well as discussing more restaurant tips.
